There’s a scene in Lady Gaga’s “Marry the Night” music video when she walks into a large foyer wearing a Versace rhinestone-studded denim outfit. It looks like she stepped right out of the 80s in full on light denim vest, jeans and bustier. My sister referenced how it reminded her of Desperately Seeking Susan, a 80s film that starred Madonna, which I totally agreed. And speaking of Desperately Seeking Susan and the 80s, I wanted to return to this editorial from Vogue Paris June-July 2011 issue.
Model Sasha Pivovarova channels early 80s Madonna wandering the streets of New York in layered ensembles. With a chill finally hitting the east coast, I think this is great inspiration for winter layering. And if you’re fascinated by strong independent street style then this is the perfect inspiration for that.
