As much as I like zippers for its quickness and ease, drawstrings are growing on me. I guess it goes back to the days when I was younger and used a lightweight black drawstring backpack with a magnetic snap closure covered in vintage floral print. I liked it for the florals and how different it was from the ordinary zipper backpacks. However it grew to annoy me when the drawstrings just weren’t fast enough for me to close and heavy books couldn’t withstand the lightness of the fabric so I transferred back to a zipper backpack. I wonder if it’s still around because I’m feeling pretty nostalgic right now.
Drawstrings add such a nice touch and detailing to a bag that it emits a demure/softer look opposed to the tough look that metal zippers can give. I’m seeing lots of bags with a drawstring closure that it’s been making be on the look out for one. I think I want a backpack with a drawstring because for some reason I’ve been wanting a backpack too like those vintage leather ones and probably since I’m reminiscing about the past.
I love the third strap of the first row, the one from Topshop!
